The Washington and Barmston War Memorial on the Village Green was unveiled on 5 June 1920. Unfortunately no event is possible this year but there is an article outling its history in the Research Articlestab on this site

On the 100th anniversary, 5 June 2020, Councillors David and Diane Snowden, marked the day by laying a bouqet and poppy cross at the memorial.
